I found the practice teaching, and structure of the 43 minute lesson very useful, and could readily use and adapt this program in the classroom. During the course, I felt that what we were being graded on, their results of those grades, the pacing of the curriculum, and the amount of material not covered in class, but was still presented on the exam, was quite confusing. So much of the grammar was condensed into just a few long days, with quite a bit of material quickly gone over, or not covered at all, made for a very difficult and stressful testing situation.

I arrived at the campus in Phuket with very little knowledge of how to teach / teach abroad. After 2 very intense weeks at the course with days starting at 08:30 – 09:00 and ending around 20:00 it was very hard as a non-native to finish everything in time and even refresh my grammar knowledge at the same time. But…. Without a challenge I wouldn’t be prepared to teach English. I would rate the course 5/5.

I would recommend the course to anyone. Be prepared for a tough couple of weeks which will make you ready for any obstacle you can come across after you start teaching.

A good tip to anyone interested in following the course is to start refreshing your grammar skills before joining the course 🙂

I feel this course definitely prepared me for teaching in a foreign classroom. The staff was very polite and supportive.

The teaching practices and interacting with the Thai students was what I enjoyed best.

This course is not a cake walk. You will need to work and study to earn your certificate so come prepared!

The other students were great, it was almost like we were a little family whilst there!

I would definitely recommend this course to anyone who is coming to Thailand and needs a class to prepare you!

I found the instruction at TEFL campus Phuket to be a well rewarding and fulfilling experience. The course was packed full of content and had many meaningful tips tricks, and tools to use in interfacing with students. The facilities are well maintained and very clean which is important for pandemic times. The practice teaching I found to be very rewarding. I liked being able to interact with the students and elicit and encourage vocabulary and concepts with them. One downside, because of Covid-19, meant that unfortunately the class sizes were on the very small end in terms of student numbers. Eric, the course director is extremely knowledgeable in his instructor role and gives excellent feedback. While the lesson plan guidance was good and designed in a way to offer the TEFL candidate less help as the course progressed I felt that I could have used a little more assistance as the course went on. There were 2 separate sessions on job support during the course and Eric was very happy to offer additional services such as vetting your CV, being a reference and additional continued support post course completion. I would highly recommend this course to anyone serious about pursuing career or interest in EFL teaching.

TEFL Campus Phuket exceeded my expectations. The school itself was very clean and provided students with free water, coffee and tea. The classrooms were kept in the same shape as well; air conditioning was always one while learning/teaching and the chairs and tables appeared to be brand new. The location in relation to Phuket Town was a short scooter ride or walk from the hotel to the school, with plenty of places to eat or shop near by.

Beyond the brick and mortar of the school, the staff are very friendly and helpful. They were always at the school before students arrived and made themselves available to help answer any questions relating to accommodation, transportation or other general inquiries.

Most importantly, the quality of the the course and trainers was outstanding! Eric, the lead trainer and operator of the campus is extremely knowledgable. His deep understanding of teaching English as a foreign language along with his personal experience made him a subject matter expert. Between the energy he brings to the classroom and his willingness to help students inside and outside of the classroom, he took the course from good to GREAT!

I truly believe that taking my TEFL course at TEFL Campus Phuket has increased my skills, knowledge and understanding of how to effectively become an EFL educator.

The TEFL certificate course at TEFL Campus in Phuket, Thailand exceeded my expectations in every way.

The location is central, attracting a large number of local Thai students to populate our “training classes.” The facilities are comfortable and provide access to everything that we need as trainee teachers, such as student workbooks, office supplies, classrooms, and workspace.

The instructors were fantastic and incredibly generous with their feedback. Their experience is obvious and their attention to detail is remarkable. They were professional, dedicated, approachable, and always a pleasure to interact with.

The career support was an unexpected bonus for me. The director devoted a great deal of time providing guidance with CV production and perfection, job support (in Thailand and globally), and led many of the classroom sessions.

I am very happy that I chose to study with TEFL Campus Phuket. No online course could compare with holding the reins as an actual teacher in an actual classroom and having the live guidance of an experienced teacher during lesson planning. I feel confident to start teaching, and I learned plenty about how to build upon my own study methods, presentation skills and about encouraging the potential of others.

The four week TEFL course at TEFL Campus was great! I did a lot of research looking into what TEFL course to take and this was my pick! I am very happy it was my choice. The program was very informative. The staff helped in every way they were allowed. They had great advice for the class and for outside Thai environment questions.

The onsite teaching was one of the best experiences! Not only did it prepare me more for lesson planning and teaching but it was also fun. =)

Teaching Thai students was a lot of fun and they appreciate what you do. It was very rewarding.

I am very excited that TEFL Campus provides ongoing job support. It will come in handy if you need it.

I highly recommend TEFL Campus for those who want to become teachers!

TEFL Campus provides an excellent opportunity to prepare yourself for teaching internationally. Eric and Simon do an exceptional job of creating a learning atmosphere that is both challenging and rewarding. Their individually tailored lesson planning guidance and feedback is especially helpful because it allows each student to progress at a place that is appropriate to their own abilities. I really couldn’t have asked for a better course I or learning opportunity than what was provided by TEFL Campus.

I left the course with the feeling that my money was well spent. That was one of my main concerns as I literally journeyed around the world to the Phuket campus. The instructors where highly competent, brilliant individuals that pushed me to becoming a greater teacher. I appreciate what I have learned and was humbled by the incredibly challenging content through out the course. If the course was too easy and the instructors lax on their duties, I would have felt cheated. Fortunately, that was not the case. Some of the instructors did not always present themselves as approachable as one would’ve hoped, but that did not negate the value of the course or their capability to relate the information that we needed to succeed. I was told that some students did feel so uncomfortable that they did not ask follow up questions (fearing they were bothersome), which could’ve hindered them from gaining understanding of some content. I have already recommended this course to two associates that are interested in acquiring a TEFL certificate.

A suggestion for future course would be to have a session that focused specifically on resume building and creating a portfolio to bring to the interview. Not just a session on what should you bring and wear, but an actual session where we gather all the forms we would take to the interview so that it can be ready. All we would need to add is the TEFL cert at the end. I found myself doing this on my own after the course ended. That, along with printing out our resumes would be a great benefit and falls in line with job assistance.

Another suggestion would be to stress how imperative it is to begin studying after every class. I felt as though it was told to us, but not enough for it to actually stick. We were told to explore Phuket, have fun, and use the last weekend to study.

One more suggestion would be to have 2/3 mock exams. one after the grammer portion is complete and another when phonology is completed. Then perhaps one more the Monday before the Wednesday exam ( or however the day falls in the week)
