I completed the CELTA course January 2020. Before participating, I had lost confidence in myself as a teacher. Being at Stafford House really helped to bring it back.

We had the best tutors; knowledgable, understanding and very supportive. Additionally, the facilities were top-knotch. We were taught how to use the interactive whiteboards and afterwards didn’t shy away from incorporating them in our lessons. We were also taught how to lesson plan and structure classes in a way that is student-centred and beneficial in terms of learning, understanding and using the target language.

I feel so much more confident in my ability to teach thanks to everybody at Stafford House.

I can’t wait to get started on my journey as an English teacher.

I’ve just completed the four week CELTA at Stafford House, the course is incredibly intense but the tutors and all support staff could not be more helpful in preparing students for the course and supporting throughout. The tutors are simply excellent, how they manage to help people learn so much in such a short period of time, with such careful planning is amazing. Their continued encouragement is invaluable and their skills as teachers awesome. The facilities are great, the Interactive white boards fun to work with, and the location in Holborn, central with great for local amenities. Could not recommend this course at Stafford house enough!

I highly recommend the CELTA at Stafford House International.

The course was interesting and I learned a lot over the four weeks. The constant feedback helped me to note my strengths and weaknesses and the regular lesson planning made sure that I could focus on improving. The instructors were approachable, encouraging and knowledgeable. Everything was well structured. Overall, it was a very positive experience.

The tutors at Stafford House have been very helpful and the course is really well organised and engaging. The teaching practice is excellent. We taught different levels: pre-intermediate, intermediate and upper-intermediate students. We also had various tutors giving us feedback at different stages which I found helpful because they all have different teaching styles.

Very central location – Holborn is easily accessible. I did the online course and even so CELTA is definitely a very intensive course, so be prepared!

Even though I did an online course, the tutors were always available to help and give us

guidance and feedback either face to face on the day we taught our practice lessons or via email. I highly recommend Stafford House!

Stafford House is the place to be if you want to study the CELTA course! I’ve had an amazing experience from tutor support to feedback and teaching practice. The tutors are very enthusiastic and they deliver incredible input sessions. I’ve learnt so much here and can’t wait to put all the knowledge into practice. I would highly recommend Stafford House. If I was to go through it all over again I would definitely come back to Stafford House 🙂

Good tutors who exceeded my expectations. Content was also good.

If you are considering doing a CELTA course then I would highly recommend you do it at Stafford House. Very knowledgable and experienced teachers who will support you every step of the way. They give you the tools you need to become an effective English as a Foreign Language teacher.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Stafford House, 2, Southampton Place, Holburn, London this summer. It’s centrally located, being near Holburn tube station and buses pass the end of the road. Opposite the college, there’s a lovely park and shops and restaurants around the corner. I studied the blended on-line course. This involves working from home during the week and attending college for teaching practice on Saturday’s. The tutors are highly qualified and go out of their way to help you achieve your goals and are readily available by e-mail and for face to face tuition at the additional lesson practice sessions on Saturday’s. Stafford House offers a professional, friendly atmostphere and the office staff are very helpful.Full and part time courses are also run. I would highly reccommend Stafford House for anyone thinking of studying the Celta course.

I was worried coming into the 4 week intensive course with no teaching experience that I would struggle to keep up. This turned out to be far from the case, due to the support network in place from the tutors and the CELTA team in general. The input sessions are diverse and usable and encourage you to use the techniques straight away. The feedback was fair from both tutors and I particularly liked the idea of self evaluation and giving feedback to each other. The difference in styles between the two tutors was fairly significant and the jump from one type of feedback to another mid way was tricky to deal with at first, but on reflection, has been really useful. You get to observe your own tutors and other CELTA teachers in real classes and the students you teach yourselves are great and very keen to learn! There could have been more computers in the CELTA rooms and I did not use the library, although most of what i needed was online anyway. Overall, I am really glad I came to Stafford House. It was a lot of work, but the support of the team and my classmates around me made it enjoyable and manageable. This course has given me the confidence to teach and teach well and I am excited for the next step!

Studying the CELTA course at Stafford House was engaging, inspiring and a good experience altogether! I was impressed with the knowledge and support of the tutors and staff who were always on hand to support you even via emails; always very prompt to reply. I would recommend this course to anyone looking to become English teachers to adults. The Teaching Practice sessions were very informative and feedback was always very effective and constructive. Thanks to all staff who made it a lovely experience and less stressful!
