Description
Maximo Nivel’s award winning TEFL Certification Program is a thorough and practical introduction to Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL). During the 150-hours 4-week course, you become familiar with the principles of successful ESL teaching and you develop real-world skills to be an effective English teacher. The TEFL program focuses on practical teaching, lesson planning, classroom management, and more. The training program includes 100 hours of in-class instruction, 35 hours of required reading and written assignments, and 15 hours of observation and practical teaching.
Practical teaching is the heart of the TEFL Certification program. You begin teaching mini-lessons in week 1 and continue throughout the course. There are also various, short workshops where you practice specific teaching techniques and strategies. The TEFL course also includes 6 hours where you observe experienced ESL teachers leading their classes. In the final week of the TEFL course, you take over a live English class with real, non-native students, and teach 60-minute lessons for 5 days, during which you are observed and coached by your TEFL Trainer. In all you will have 15 hours of practical teaching and observation during the course.

This is my 3rd Spanish immersion class. This was by far and away the best program. You are tested before starting class. I thought they did an appropriate job assessing my Spanish skills. I started with private lessons with 2 different teachers. The lesson plans mirrored each other and reinforced topics.
When I started my group class, I had 7 other students with me. It was so well organized and the content was solid. I highly recommend Máximo Nivel to anyone wanting to learn or improve their Spanish. I am a beginner and feel like I have advanced tremendously. Will definitely come back again to Guatemala.
