I had a very good time with Charlei and the other participants. Charlei was just lovely. The lessons were clear and easy to understand.

I liked that she was really interested with each participant, always had encouraging feedback and constructive criticism.

I do wish we had a little more resources concerning job search though.

I had a great experience doing this course and with my instructor, Steve. He was very professional and was able to explain everything clearly and concisely, and he was happy to explain anything that we needed help with. The content of the weekend course was thorough and very helpful, and overall was a great experience to help with the rest of the online course as well as planning for future jobs or positions.

The only criticism I have is that while there were 5 people signed up for the course, only myself and one other participant attended. The courses are not held if fewer than 4 people sign up, meaning that a group setting is important, and having only 2 people meant that we were limited in what we were able to do. Steve was very good about adapting the material to fit the group, but of course we could not have the same experience as we were meant to. This is in no way a criticism of our instructor, but perhaps TEFL could enforce a confirmation policy to avoid this scenario in the future.

Thank you Steve for an excellent experience, and for doing all you could do make the best of the situation. I enjoyed this weekend lots, and it was very helpful and informative!

Elisabeth was very professional and helped us shed our inhibitions very quickly and made the class enjoyable. As I am planning to teach principally individuals, there was a bit too much emphasis on group class work but I appreciate that’s what the majority would need. While I found it useful to do lots of group activities, I felt I would have had a clearer understanding of the procedures of, for eg a Skills lesson, if it had been explained to us first before actually carrying it out in person. Consequently I ended up a bit confused about the order in which we should do activities. Writing it up clearly on the board would have helped me absorb it more (whereas the board would invariably be covered with masses of words we’d used as part of the exercise, making it hard to work out in which order to do things. Also, we all found it really hard to concentrate at the end of the first day after 11 hours, so I wonder if aspects of the lesson, such as lots of icebreakers, could have been reduced, so as to finish earlier and not lose concentration at the end of that day’s course. But overall, very helpful and Elisabeth’s manner and charisma was very inspiring in how to be really positive and encouraging to a classful of students.

The lecturer was very good, with great subject knowledge and was able to engage the class in some thought-provoking ways.

The two exercises set for the students were too challenging for some students, I suspect because they were at different stages of the methodology course. Unfortunately this meant that the 2nd and 4th of the four online sessions – student ‘lessons’ and feedback – were not as useful as they could have been to all students. It was also disappointing to see that some students had not spent adequate preparation time and i wonder if that is because they were not suitably forewarned of the requirements before the lessons.

Really enjoyed my few days with Kirsty Dambrosio as our tutor. It was great to be able to learn from an experienced teacher, and to be given the space to practice giving lessons along with other TEFL students.

Kirsty’s feedback was fair and prompt, and she passed on plenty of information and resources that will be of use whilst going through the TEFL programme.

From the three days, I feel I have a much clearer idea of what teaching in the digital environment entails, and feel much more confident in planning lessons that will be engaging and educational.

Throughout the course I have found my tutor Denise’s guidance and advice very helpful! Also, I recently completed the weekend course with Carl which I thoroughly enjoyed. It was nice to meet like minded students on the course in person. Our tutor Carl was friendly, helpful, informative and (importantly) patient with us all. It was a very encouraging experience and would recommend it to others.

My only small critique for the online course is within the telephone teaching course itself. I would have found a couple of demonstration classes helpful, showing examples of a few of the platforms described in these units.

That was an excellent weekend with Carl as I believe I have learned a good amount as well as becoming more confident on my TEFL journey. Carl was excellent and he handled the class of around 9 very well, ensuring he got to everyone and getting us all on the same page.

The only reason I haven’t given full 5 stars is that the course was crammed into one weekend (which I appreciate is due to the cost of booking the room) which made the amount of content overwhelming at times.

Other than that it was a great experience and I cannot emphasise the excellence of Carl more!

This is an outstanding organisation. I feel that TEFL.ORG has an outstanding program.

The teacher Mr. Stephen Clarke is an OUTSTANDING Teacher.

The one area that I feel needs extra attention and more time during the live class, is the grammar in particular the 13 tenses.

I thoroughly enjoyed this course and I would recommend it to everyone.
