The one and only Language House TEFL in Prague is one of the most popular and beloved TEFL certification companies in the world. With over 20 years in operation, many of their staff have been working for the organization for over a decade. Since its establishment, TLH has strived to create a TEFL certification school that not only includes some of the most rigorous training possible, but also all of the logistical and community support for their graduates to thrive. As of 2024, they have graduated over 3000 successful teachers from their program.

The Language House TEFL is not just a training center, but a network of staff and graduates in Prague and abroad who help and support each other years after graduation. When you sign up for The Language House TEFL, you are not just getting a TEFL certificate; you are entering into a supportive community of staff and graduates who become almost like a second family. This support includes making friends abroad, finding jobs, support with accommodation, and everything in between to aid in your success.

This is one of the more intensive courses you can find. Their website and socials are filled with pics of their trainees having fun in their new home, but make no mistake, The Language House TEFL is an extremely rigorous course. After completion, you will graduate a skilled and competent teacher. They also offer online and blended TEFL courses for those who cannot make it to Prague.

If you’re thinking about moving abroad to travel and teach then apply to The Language House in Prague. It’s honestly been one of the best experiences of my life. Before enrolling in the class I thought: How am I going to be ready to teach children in a classroom setting after only a month long course? It’s extensive but the hard work pays off. I cannot begin to describe how happy I am with the course and the doors that it has opened. I’ve made great friends, I am living in Prague, and traveling all over Europe while teaching English. I also really appreciate that the people at The Language House make themselves available and are still there to help even once the course is done. To me this was huge, because a lot of people who went through other programs have said they felt alone after their course was over. with TLH you can always ask for help because I honestly believe they want you to succeed. Anyway, cheers and enjoy your journey!

For someone who had never been abroad before, the thought of living and working abroad was scary. However, The Language House made me feel very comfortable right from the beginning. The course is extremely demanding and you will have long days, but the instructors care about you as a person and want you to do well. They also go out of their way to make it fun and engaging. My time at TLH made me much more confident as a teacher and convinced me that I could apply for any job I wanted. It also introduced me to some terrific people who I now consider friends. I know that I will always be a valued member of the TLH family thanks to their outstanding (and lifelong) support system.

TLH is an amazing program with innovative instructors that challenge you to do your best. You are pushed out of your comfort zone and your endurance is tested throughout the program. However, like a Phoenix rising from its ashes you emerge transformed with the knowledge and skills to be an effective English teacher. This is more than a program that simply gives you a TEFL Certificate at the end. You become part of TLH Alumni with lifelong friends, resources and support! Why would you pick any other program in Prague?

Going to The Language House to train for my TEFL certificate is one the best decisions I have ever made. All of the staff members are knowledgeable, friendly, and do everything they can to help you succeed. You gain hands-on teaching experience so you are 100% prepared to teach in the real world once you graduate. Not only is the training great, the support TLH offers extends far beyond the classroom. TLH helps you find housing, find a job, with the visa process, and with any other challenges you may face while living abroad. I am so grateful for the community TLH has given me and couldn’t be happier with the experience I’ve had here in Prague!

Where do I begin? When I signed up for this TEFL course I didn’t think it was really going to happen. I didn’t think I was going to eventually leave my family and friends and move abroad. When I say I didn’t think it was going to happen, it didn’t feel like reality.

When I arrived in Prague I was terrified!! All the staff made me feel right at home. I soon had friend and a family here in Prague. We got through the course together and encourage each other.

I would encourage anyone who is considering teaching English as a foreign language abroad to take this course!

The Language House exceeded all of my expectations. I’ve never had teachers like this before- teachers who are 100% invested in your growth as a teacher. I looked forward to the engaging classes and was grateful to get so many practice lessons in with real Czech students. I feel well equipped to teach English. I’m very grateful for the time and energy each staff member gave to us. Great community- highly recommend!

I thought this course was amazing! I did not expect to learn as much as I did from the teachers and observers! I thought the location was very central and easy to access from the student housing. Everyone from the language house is very friendly and helpful! I would highly recommend this course! It was an unforgettable experience!

The Language House is a fantastic place to do your TEFL certification. When I first decided that I wanted to get my TEFL certification I was unsure where exactly I was going to go to take it and ended up going through a different program that works with The Language House here in Prague. It was honestly one of the best decisions that I could have made. The Language House really cares about the people who come into the course making you feel welcome and at home. Getting this certification can be stressful at times but never did I feel like I couldn’t do it because I knew that all the teachers and observers are here to help you improve and really hone your skills to the level that it should be. Chris and other observers are here to work with you to help you and if you are having trouble they really put in the extra time and effort to make sure that you are more confident in your ability to teach lessons. It is also really helpful that they set up the practice teaching for you and all of the staff members are extremely helpful with lesson planning and just overall know their TEFL lingo. Every teacher is easy to get in touch with and is understanding of what you are going through. Though it was stressful at times I would 100% take this course again here at The Language House, I feel extremely more confident in my teaching skills now than I did before. Go to this school!!

TLH provided help from start to finish. I had wanted to do a TEFL course for years and came across this one. Two minutes after I had completed my application I received a call and within the weekend my journey to come to Prague had been simplified for me. TLH provided different options for living accommodations, helped you get your month long travel pass and encouraged you to build your support networks. The trainers all knew their grammar, knew how to teach and were very approachable if other help was needed. The course is intensive, you have to want to teach and put the time in. But worth every penny I put in! They also helped people with Visas and are active in providing job assistance because they do want you to have a job after you finish the course.

I’m extremely happy I chose to go with TLH for my course! The staff was excellent, the hours were very reasonable, and I gained valuable in classroom teaching experience and confidence. You quickly feel like a family within the first week!
