The one and only Language House TEFL in Prague is one of the most popular and beloved TEFL certification companies in the world. With over 20 years in operation, many of their staff have been working for the organization for over a decade. Since its establishment, TLH has strived to create a TEFL certification school that not only includes some of the most rigorous training possible, but also all of the logistical and community support for their graduates to thrive. As of 2024, they have graduated over 3000 successful teachers from their program.

The Language House TEFL is not just a training center, but a network of staff and graduates in Prague and abroad who help and support each other years after graduation. When you sign up for The Language House TEFL, you are not just getting a TEFL certificate; you are entering into a supportive community of staff and graduates who become almost like a second family. This support includes making friends abroad, finding jobs, support with accommodation, and everything in between to aid in your success.

This is one of the more intensive courses you can find. Their website and socials are filled with pics of their trainees having fun in their new home, but make no mistake, The Language House TEFL is an extremely rigorous course. After completion, you will graduate a skilled and competent teacher. They also offer online and blended TEFL courses for those who cannot make it to Prague.

I just finished my TEFL course at the Language House, and I cannot even begin to describe how awesome it was. The instructors and observers were fun and passionate about teaching, and they made everyone feel so comfortable and welcome. I had never had any teaching experience before, but I walked away from the month feeling so prepared to go out and teach. They definitely keep you busy during the month, but it’s totally manageable and fun. We all certainly had plenty of time to enjoy Prague’s infinite amount of pivo. Most importantly of all, TLH helps you beyond the classroom with housing, visas, and just life. I wouldn’t hesitate to contact any of the staff for assistance even now after graduation. I was sad for the course to end, but I can’t wait for all the adventures Prague has and for the life that TLH has prepared us all for!

As a former businesswoman, I found my course at The Language House to be incredibly professional and in-depth. Everyone who worked there was passionate about helping us succeed and become great teachers. We received extensive feedback in the most positive way, and I could see the improvement in myself and my colleagues every day. The school offers a lot of support, starting long before orientation and continuing after the course is over. They continue to give me job advice and visa help, and welcome us back to the school to use their resources. We even have an extensive alumni network that connects us to teachers in Prague and around the world. If you’re looking for a TEFL course, this is it! Don’t hesitate! I just completed the TEFL certification course at The Language House in Prague and I could not have asked for a better training opportunity. The staff are incredible educators and mentors always willing to go above and beyond to help. Not only did I feel supported during the course I continue to feel the same as I am applying for teaching positions now. The location and learning environment was very professional and the training itself was extremely well thought out and realistic. I feel the staff prepared us to be the best teachers we can be and I feel certain being a TLH Alum will open doors to great opportunities.

The Language House TEFL Prague is an amazing organization! They made my transition into teaching and living abroad both easy and fun. Before graduating in May 2016, my class and I had the opportunity to practice our skills by teaching real ESL students, and having our lessons observed by the experienced teachers of The Language House staff. By the end of the course, because of its unique format, I felt truly prepared to work. After the course, the school continued to offer support by helping me to secure a visa and a teaching position in Prague. I cannot recommend them enough: if you’re considering teaching English abroad, they are your best option 🙂

The TEFL course by The Language House prepares you for a career in teaching English whether you’re planning on teaching for only a short time or wanting make teaching English a part of your life as you travel the globe. The benefit of getting a TEFL certificate already has its benefit as your entry point to go nearly anywhere in the world; but the course at TLH, with its intensive month-long course, helps teaching English become muscle memory. In my course the range of teaching experience by students coming into the course was the full spectrum, from lifelong teachers to people who were nervous about even speaking in front of people. All of us finished the course having learned with total assurance a great and opportunistic skill to have.

It’s very important to know that you’ll get what you put in. Be ready to study all the rules of grammar (and there are probably some rules you didn’t know that you know or even had names!) and have lots and lots of teaching practice. And Chris and the TLH staff are supportive in the just the right way: being understanding to help each student with their unique learning curve and being available whenever you have a question or need help with your approach, while also preparing you to be independent as you embark on a very very special career.

This program is a great opportunity for native speakers to travel and teach English. During this program I gained a myriad of valuable information that I use to this day in my teaching. Not only is everyone at TLH positive and very helpful throughout the program there are like a big family. Chris and the staff will help you through any difficulties you are having and any advice you need when moving to a new country. You can use this program to help with your professional disposition in your teaching career,while creating new and unique experiences.

I am a graduate of the Language House February 2017 class. Taking this course was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. It was an intense, stressful four-week course but what I have gained was more than worth it. I graduated feeling prepared to teach and I was able to get a full-time job at a preschool within two weeks of graduation. The instructors are fun, attentive, and always there to help. The course provides for an opportunity to teach classes at varying levels and observers provide valuable feedback that I have used in my real-life classes. Not only does the Language House teach how to be a teacher but they helped me find my flat and has done almost everything for the visa process. I have made lifelong friends through my course and there is a huge network of TLH graduates around the world that are always there to help – it truly is a family. I would recommend this course to anyone who is thinking of teaching or living abroad. I can’t imagine becoming an ESL teacher and moving to a new country without the help and support I’ve been given by the Language House!

I am a graduate from The Language House Feb 2017 course.

I learned about The Language House TEFL program from a Google search. I wanted to fulfill my dream of traveling the world and was in search of a career path that could help fund it. I read many amazing reviews written about The Language House and thought it sounded too good to be true! I can already say that taking this course through The Language House was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

They do a fantastic job answering any questions you may have leading up to the course as well as keeping you informed once you are signed up. Life gets a bit chaotic once the course begins so they do everything they can to set you up for success — airport pickups, student housing, orientation, transportation cards, etc.

The course was very challenging, but is absolutely worth it. The saying goes “you reap what you sow” — if you are willing to put in the hard work and passion you will not only succeed, but have an amazing time during the process. You dive right into teaching methodology, grammar and hands on teaching time.

The instructors are incredibly knowledgable and friendly. Both my instructors and my classmates have quickly become my good friends and expat family. They have done a fantastic job at creating an alumni community that supports you throughout the course and after graduation. I’m so proud to call myself a Language House graduate!

The Language House is not just a school, it’s a community.. our home away from home. I had been researching coming abroad to get my TEFL certification for six months prior to making the move. I genuinely think this was the best decision I have made in my life thus far. I had absolutely no teaching experience prior to coming abroad and after just a month of teaching I have been promoted to the main teacher in the program I work for. I do believe I owe my now above average teaching skills to the wonderful and caring staff of TLH. As many others have stated, this course is not easy. But, why would you want it to be? My month at TLH was insanely intense, but it prepared me more than I could have ever hoped for. Not only did the entire February 2017 course graduate together, we are also all employed. The bond we all have pushes us all to do better and to work harder. Making a move across the world might not seem possible — it is. The connections I made here both personally and professionally are the reason I wake up in the beautiful city of Prague every day, looking forward to going to work. To prove my point about the importance of the community even further, I messaged a past graduate after reading her what seemed to be too good to be true review six months before moving here. As it turns out, she was right. After a ridiculous amount of support from a complete stranger I started to realize TLH was the place for me. The community aspect of TLH is bigger than what you could ever dream of. I would strongly suggest taking this course and joining this ridiculous family; life is too short not to. Nastravi!
