I finally am finished! This course is really great if you want to learn to teach English. It is very challenging, but since having taken it I feel more prepared to take on a classroom. I had a really good tutor that pushed me to do my best and think outside the box. I turned in my last assignment on Monday and got my grade back this morning! :~) I’m so happy to have this part over and now I can focus on the next phase… Teaching English as a sencond language at a college in China!!! :~)

For those of you who are interested in trying this course, don’t even think about it just do it! This is a great course and it is very useful for working overseas. I found the tutor wonderful and very helpful. The course is based on things that you need to do everyday and it is realistic and useful. If you are concerned about time, well you acn do it aon your own time and finish it when you want. I was working 60 hours weeks, for six days a week but I still found time to finish the course. I think you can too. Good luck to all!

I have been teaching english in China and in South America and started the ICAl programme as a refresher course. I was surprised at the depth of the course which required quite a lot of orginal thought and have no regrets doing this course. I found the support excellent.

I’ve been teaching English in South Korea for more than 5 years now. I’ve decided to do the TEFL course ’cause nowadays I have lots of time in the afternoons. I’ve just completed ICAL’s on-line TEFL course and I have NO REGRETS. It was definitely an eye-opener. My tutor, Ellen, was very helpful in her comments – THANK YOU ELLEN. I want to express my gratitude to the entire staff at ICAL for creating and administering the TESL/TEFL certificate in a highly professional and helpful manner.

To begin with, the online ICAL TESL/TEFL Certificate course was very well designed to meet the needs of teachers worldwide who, for one reason or another, cannot afford to pay for or don’t have immediate access to a TESL/TEFL course in their area.

The ICAL TESL/TEFL course content matches that of those other supposedly elite TESL/TEFL course programs. Proof of ICAL’s reputation in the international TESL/TEFL market is reflected in the numbers of ICAL TESL/TEFL Certificate graduates who are hired and praised for their academic contributions by international employers.

Last but not least, the ICAL TESL/TEFL administrative team, led by Pete West, is always there to assist recent and not-so-recent graduates with any question or request they might have. I am glad and proud to be an ICAL TESL/TEFL Certificate holder.

ICAL played a major role in my complete career-change. I’d always be grateful toward this institution for its contribution in my life and career and preparing me for this new and exciting challenge at this time of my life. The only real negative about this and any other online courses, is the fact that one doesn’t get practical teaching exposure; but then on the other hand, the online courses are there for us who either do not have the time, or cannot afford the very expensive full-time TEFL courses.

However, I would like to submit that the ICAL-course is making up for the lack of teaching exposure by presenting a course with excellent course content. I really believe that I’d been well equipped as a new TEFL teacher by the time my last assignment was submitted. If all the ICAL tutors are as thorough and supportive as my tutor, then ICAL has a great strength in its panel of educators.

Great course! I can recommend the ICAL-course to anyone looking for an efficient online TEFL course which would prepare you thoroughly for the teaching job! And thanks ICAL admin for your excellent support through the duration of my course and also for assisting with my job placement. The position I secured through you in China is very rewarding and I enjoy nearly every minute of this! 🙂

The ICAL course is definately an excellent course. My mother tongue is not English, so it was particularly challenging for me, but with the help and encouragement from my tutor I eventually succeeded.

ICAL can really train you as a TEFL teacher from wherever you are in the world as they promise, and equip you with the proper tools needed to help you embark on your career as an English teacher.

Highly recommended !

I took the course two years ago and found it invaluable. At the moment, on the strength of the certificate I gained with ICAL, I am working in the UK at a residential school teaching English to groups of foreigners who come here for 1 or 2 weeks at a time.

Before I took the course I knew virtually nothing about the subject. By the time I reached the end of the course I felt I knew a great deal and was more than happy to find that when I was actually in a classroom I knew what I was talking about. The Modules were really practical; even now I go back to them occasionally to re-read parts and I’m still getting more out of the course even though I finished it some time back.

The website for the course is also first class; I still use the ICAL wiki a lot for all kinds of TEFL related questions. Whenever I need to know something I go there first as the material there is presented at just the right level for me.

One of the best things about the course was the tutor. We still keep in touch. She helped not only with the grading of my work and answering questions about the material, but also with all the things in the world of TEFL outside the course. We had conversations about finding work, for example.

I must say I was really pleased by the whole experience and I’d thoroughly recommend it to other people out there thinking of taking an online course. I can’t recommend it highly enough!

I found the ICAL course to be very good but quite difficult. My instructor was highly knowledgeable and definately knew what she was talking about. I do feel however some of this information provided was subjective (perhaps leaning towards opinionated) but all of the information was helpful never-the-less.

I would recommend this course to anyone instructed in teaching English as a foreign language. I learned quite a bit from the course and feel it was worth the money.

I found the course to be instructive, challenging, and very helpful. I loved how it allowed me to work at my own pace and receive instruction and encouragement from a tutor. ( I didn’t rate the ‘job placement’ category because I already had a job via my own resources at the time I took the course.)
