I completed this course in the fall of 2011 and it is exactly what it says it is- intensive, offers high quality training and has a professional and friendly staff. It is a rewarding experience once you finish. I loved how the instructors challenged me from the day one to step out of my shell of my comfort zone and suggested creative and helpful ways to be the best teacher I can be. I highly recommend this course to anyone who is interested in pursuing a TEFL career or even who wants a challenging and rewarding new experience.

I did the course in Prague in November 2011 and I have to say it was pretty intensive! Having said that the tutors were really supportive throughout the course and very through in giving feedback on teaching practice. They all had very different approaches to teaching but were/are clearly very experienced. I also had a great deal of support in looking for work – and managed to get full-time work very quickly.

I definitely recommend Oxford TEFL to anyone seriously interested in pursuing a TEFL career.

I attended the Barcelona location in the fall of 2006. I went into the program holding a degree in elementary education with a specialization in teaching learners of English. Yet the things I learned in that single month have proven to be more useful than the 5 yrs of university schooling I went through before that. The course was thorough and went through so many aspects of teaching English. The practice teaching was well-supervised, with excellent feedback from supervisors and fellow learners. I still hear myself repeating back some of that feedback now, 5 years later, as I plan my lessons.

One unanticipated benefit of going through this program is the friendships. I connected with so many amazing teachers and future teachers during my month at Oxford TEFL. Through that network, I’ve not only established lifelong friends all over the world, but I’ve been able to keep getting fresh ideas and even connections to new jobs. One of my Oxford TEFL friends is the one who led me to my current job in South Korea, teaching at his former school.

If you choose the Barcelona location, you won’t be disappointed. Barcelona is the perfect place for a TEFL course – access to diverse English-language learners from all over the world and a fascinating city to explore during free times.

I attended the course in Prague in 2010 and it was one of the best things I’ve ever done.

The course was actually what you can say “intensive”. We worked pretty hard, it was very challenging both for native and non-native speakers (as I am), but the experience was worth the effort, both from the human and the professional point of view.

The staff was really professional, but also very friendly. The feedback our tutors gave us proved out to be the most useful part of the whole course, and they were ready to bend over backwards to help us in all occasions. Tutors and mates’ support was the best solution to all the problems we experienced during the TEFL course. Lessons, and overall supervised teaching practice, gave us a more thorough awareness of what a teacher was supposed to be and to do. Getting our hands dirty by teaching real students was intimidating at the beginning, but it soon became very rewarding.

Prague is simply amazing, and having a bunch of nice places to go to, it allowed us to go out pretty often and to have fun grabbing a pint of beer, even together with our teachers.

It was such an awesome experience, I’d go back there right now!:)

OxfordTEFL is a great place to do the CertTESOL course. I did it in 2010 and it’s probably one of the best decisions I’ve made in my life!

At that time, I already had experience teaching English, but I was surprised by the content of the course because it was so thorough and helped me develop even more as an English teacher. Everyone in the staff is very approachable, supportive and friendly.

Also, it was a place where I was able to meet a lot of people from the TEFL community. Since they also offer language courses, I was able to talk to some teachers about what their experience was like in the TEFL world in Spain. Their Careers Advisor helped me find a job (even as a non-EU member) and I’m still in Barcelona thanks to them!!! =)

Oxford Tefl was such a great course, I would highly recommend it! It was very challenging, yet very fun at the same time. Going in to the course having never taught was a bit intimidating but by the time it was over I felt confident to go out teach! Great school, great people!

Two great things you will learn at Oxford TEFL: (1) Tons of knowledge and insight into the grammar and phonology of the English language and (2) what it’s like to interact with real students on a daily basis. The course is intense, but you will learn a lot. And you will learn practical knowledge. You will not just learn the theories, but you will practice them regularly and in front of your students. The teachers will support you every step of the way, but they will not do your work for you. So if you want to get your hands dirty and jump right into your teaching, all while exploring the beautiful streets of Prague, come here.

I decided upon Oxford TEFL after thoroughly researching all the different course providers out there, in my view Oxford TEFL stood apart from the rest. I knew that I would be gaining a certificate which carried significant kudos in the world of EFL teaching, which would prove the most beneficial when applying for jobs. This has definitely shown itself to be true; I am now in the midst of job applications and all but a few employers demand a Trinity Cert. TESOL or that of equivalent stature. Gaining a professional well-recognised certificate aside, the course itself did not disappoint from start to finish. The benefits of teaching ‘real-life’ students and receiving constructive feedback with tips and pointers from experienced, knowledgeable trainers cannot be overestimated. The trainers at Oxford TEFL were always on hand to offer advice and iron out any queries or confusions; this degree of support is something which I feel really helped to make an intense course that much more manageable. Completing the course through Oxford TEFL also had the fringe benefit of spending one long month in a fabulously funky city (Prague). Our daily walk to school took us past some of the many famous, spectacular sites that Prague has to offer. If you want a professional well-organised course that will get you on the rung of the TEFL ladder, then I would recommend, without hesitation, Oxford TEFL!!

The Oxford TEFL program in Prague offered me an excellent opportunity to both learn and practice the intricacies of teaching English and prepared me for the teaching position I was offered almost immediately after graduating from the course. The indispensable feedback from tutors after each teaching practice session allowed me to develop an understanding of the requirements of the classroom, leading me to achieve a consistent teaching quality that can be used in any classroom situation. Guided by extremely proficient instructors, difficult aspects of language learning were made clear and practical, and the resources available to the trainees permitted creative and productive explorations of lesson planning. An excellent course that provides a solid foundation for the teaching of English in the future!
