Overall I was very pleased with the course, as well as the instructors. I believe that the course helped a lot to prepare me for a job teaching English as a foreign language. I especially enjoyed the time that I had to practice my lessons, and I always found the feedback that I received from the instructors to be very useful l. I also feel that the opportunity that I had to observe the instructors teach has been very useful to me as well. My favorite part of the course was the unknown language section. This part of the course was extremely interesting, and I have found it to be very useful to me as a teacher. The course can be extremely intense and difficult at times, but I never felt that they were asking you to do something that was unnecessary or unreasonable. I always felt that the instructors were there for you if and when you needed any help as well, and as long as you were taking the course seriously you would be able to handle it. Also, they provide a lot of resources for everyone when it comes to finding a job, and after completing the course I found a great job in Indonesia, which I really enjoy, and that I would not have gotten had it not been for Oxford Tefl. Overall I am very happy that I took the course with Oxford Tefl, and I would recommend them to anyone.

OxfordTEFL certTESOL July 2012.

This course provided a unique experience to interact with a variety of personalities of like-minded people seeking to be certified teach English. As shown by my rating, this course in every category was excellent. The content of the course from grammar, vocabulary, phonology to practicum teaching and methods of lesson planning was useful and presented in ways that we could actually take with us to our own lessons. Practice teaching was an enlightening experience for me since I am already a teacher in the US. I found myself working hard to improve each lesson successfully. I rated feedback the lowest because although some of my feedback was sufficient, I thought overall that the feedback was generalized and unusable for any lasting effects. The facilities were adequate, provided materials and a place to teach, although often there wasn’t enough space for all students to do work with classes going on. A must mention is that city of Prague for this specific program. The program wouldn’t be the same without this city, if for no other reason you should choose Prague as the city to do this program. I have a contracted US teaching job so I did not seek job placement, nor can I rate it.

Overall, I have already recommended this specific program with confidence to several of my teaching colleagues. Of all programs currently available I do not know of a stronger program than this one.

I did the Oxford TEFL course in Prague in August 2012 and I have nothing but praise to say about the course and the tutors. I felt like I improved a lot over such a short space of time, after every session of teaching practise we discussed the lessons, were given feedback and decided upon which aspects of teaching we personally needed to work on and improve for our next lesson; so every lesson was that bit better than the last. We taught two lessons a week of varying lengths and we taught two different levels over the course (I taught both pre-intermediate and intermediate students). We were able to be very creative with our lessons and create our own materials. We were also taught all the aspects of grammar, phonology and basic teaching theory that we would need. I would highly recommend this course to anyone thinking of doing TEFL.

Without a doubt this is the best TEFL provider around. Experienced and supportive tutors who are easy to get along with. The course is hard work and intensive but it is not too difficult to pass. Fully accredited by Trinity College. Oxford TEFL is probably the most respected course provider there is so you will find it easier to get a job if you go through them. Wherever you want to work Sinead/David will have contacts in that country and would be willing to put you in touch with them.

I completed the TEFL certificate course in May-June of 2012 in Prague. In a word, the course was amazing. The teachers/trainers are absolutely unbelievable. They are some of the best instructors I have ever had because they know their stuff, give excellent and honest feedback, and encourage the students immensely. The practice both planning lessons and teaching actual students is invaluable. The course as a whole is difficult and, at first, a bit intimidating, but by the end I felt like I had accomplished something significant. Beyond that (and more importantly) the course prepared me to start working as a TESOL teacher. I am currently working as a teacher in Surabaya, Indonesia. Careers Advisor Sinéad Laffan worked tirelessly to help me find a job. The combination of her effort and the extensive Oxford TEFL alumni network is in large part the reason I am working as a TESOL teacher. The bottom line is that Oxford TEFL is an amazing program in an amazing city. If you want to get a job as teacher internationally, this is the right program.

You certainly will not find a more professional, knowlegable, and committed group of instructors anywhere. Their command of what they teach you is extraordinary, and their passion for, and experience with, teaching is exceedingly apparant from the first day. The school itself is well-run and organized; it has a superb and friendly administrative staff, a good supply of textbooks and teaching materials, access to relevant technologies, and well-equipped classrooms. I would be hard-pressed to come up with anything that could be improved upon at Oxford TEFL in Prague.

I was very happy with OxfordTEFL. After the course was over, I was very confident in my ability to plan lessons and assess student needs. I am now working as a TEFL tutor locally in the Czech Republic and online. I would recommend this course to anyone who wants to teach English. The course does not exactly include job placement, but does include advice on how to optimize a résumé for TEFL jobs and has an active alumni network.

I completed the one month intensive course last month in Barcelona after doing research about several different TEFL courses and don’t regret the decision I made! The course is as it says very intensive, so you do need to devote the whole month to the course and be prepared to spend time completing assignments and lesson planning outside college hours. The tutors were very approachable and supportive and their was a friendly working environment in the college. The input lessons and lesson planning sessions really equipped you to be able to plan your lessons and assignments and develop your skills as the course progressed. I was initially very apprehensive about the teaching sessions, but the tutors through their feedback were able to give you constructive advice regarding areas where you could improve which you couldthen use to build on each lesson. The students at the college were very enthusiastic and keen to learn English and by being given the opportunity to teach both Intermediate and Advanced students it helped to gain a broader experience in working along with students that have different abilities. I found that I learnt so much through doing this course -not only about teaching but English Grammar itself! Although it was hard work, I really enjoyed my month at Oxford House and would definitely recommend this course to anyone that is considering completing a TESOL course!!

I was at a real loss when it come to trying to decide which TEFL program to sign up for. I called and gathered info on seemingly all of the ones in the Prague area. In the end, OxfordTEFL was the clear winner. Not because it shares a name with the legendary English University but because it was the only TEFL school backed up by a Trinity certificate. When you think about what you’re getting, it really is worth the money. Thanks to OxfordTEFL, I have taught now in Morocco and in Ukraine and, in the case of the former, was hired purely on my having an TEFL certificate from Oxford TEFL. In addition, the staff of instructors you’ll encounter, from David to Sinead on down, are just extraordinary! I miss them but thanks to my OxfordTEFL cert, will always have something fond to remember them by.

Thanks guys!

I’ve just finished the course (April/May 2012) here in Prague, and I must say it was intensive, thorough and jam-packed with interesting, mind-opening teaching stuff. I was prepared to push myself 100% and I received the same from all my tutors. They were so giving, so passionate of what they were doing that it was very inspiring and humble to see and experience. They helped me to build a strong foundation of being a teacher onto which I can now continue building safely up. I can also pass on all the knowledge I have been given. Thank you very much to all of you who taught me and influenced me! I am very happy I was part of this OxfordTefl experience. Go for it guys!
