I found the 120-hr course to be comprehensive and a great vehicle for learning what you need to know to walk into a classroom with confidence. I especially liked that instructors and administrators from ONTESOL were willing to work with me when I had some other things come up in my life and had to focus on them for a couple of months. When I was ready to return to my studies there were waiting for me. I found that focus on the student refreshing.

I have not used the job placement service so I cannot rate that, but they have inquired about where I want to teach and sent me some links to boards that I had not already found.

I took the 120 hour advanced TESOL Cert. Course. The course was interesting and very comprehensive. Although i would have preferred to take the Trinity Certesol that Coventry House also offers, the online course covered major topics quite well and the tutor was timely with their feedback.

The best learning experience was gained from taking the 20hr additional practicum, going to actual ESL classrooms and either observing or teaching. The first-hand teaching experiences and feedback were absolutely invaluable and added a great deal to the course as a whole.

Well worth it and recognized by Tesol Canada.

I gave this course pretty good marks for what it was – an online, self-taught, 120 hour course. That being said, I think any in-person course where you get to actually practice teaching will beat almost any online course.

I was actually pleasantly surprised by the quality of the course. I didn’t know what to expect and I thought I might just be paying $250 to go through the motions and do some busy work and end up with a certificate that I could use to start teaching in Mexico City. But I actually learned a decent amount and put in a lot of hours. I’m not sure if it was actually 120 hours, but it was significant work.

The course is basically divided into two main sections – 1. grammar and pronunciation (“phonology”) and 2. how to teach (“methodology”). I really enjoyed the grammar section and learned/remembered a lot. The phonology section was all new information to me and I put in the time to really learn and understand it and came away with a lot from that. The second part – basically how to teach ESL – is just a hard thing to learn from text and videos, especially if you have no teaching experience in the past to reference the ideas to. This is where in person practice would be really valuable. I learned quite a bit here, but it’s all so theoretical I don’t know how useful it will be. I feel like after a few months teaching, if I go back and review the material I’ll get a lot more out of it.

One criticism is that there were maybe 20 typos/errors/repeated sentences in the pdf manuals, but out of maybe 200 pages, that isn’t too bad. It does give a feeling of being slightly unprofessional though. Maybe 5 or 6 YouTube links were broken as well, mostly due to copyright issues.

The “instructors” were friendly and helpful and seemed competent but really my only interaction with them was to get feedback on the 5 or 6 assignments that you have to submit.

I can’t speak to job placement at all because I didn’t use it.

I think this course is probably pretty similar to other courses available from established companies. Quality was good, price was good. If I had to do it over I would go with OnTESOL again.

I was really satisfied with the 120-hour advanced TESOL certificate course I took. The course content was great and I learnt so much. The content was very thorough with what we need to learn in order to teach. I liked that it was an online course that can accommodate my super busy and packed schedule as I don’t work a normal full time job to be able to go to any other places with physical classes. I had Ainsley as a tutor for my course and she was amazing! She marked and gave me really feedback on my assignments within a day usually. She also provided me lots of help when I had major questions for the lesson plans because I was stuck the first time I had to create one. She was very nice and accommodating when I told her I needed to get my assignments marked in time so I can finish my course for my application. She was so kind to help me mark everything ASAP so I can finish the course in time. The people working in the administrative end was also very nice and accommodating with the rush arrangement to pick up my certificate. I had such a wonderful and amazing experience with them. I am so glad I chose them over other places I could have went to. Though of course it definitely would have been great to have actual practical teaching included or a physical class where you can see the teacher teach in person. But my schedule can only allow and online course and this course fits that just perfectly. I’m looking forward to doing my TEYL specialization course with them.

I took the 120 advanced hour course with practicum. The course met the guidelines for the jobs I was applying to and the resources were relevant. I will reference the online coursework and materials in my teaching.

The 140-hour Advanced TESOL Certificate with Practicum greatly prepared me for the classroom. Each module in the online course contained detailed explanations of concepts. The assignments prepared me for the Practicum and real world scenarios, as I had to plan full classes from the beginning. My tutor gave lots of valuable feedback and provided me with his own perspective on how he prepares his classes. This was a very experiential learning experience for an online course. The staff at Ontesol helped me set up my Practicum at a language school in Toronto right after I finished my online course and they set me up with 4 job interviews with local schools, so I came out of this program with professional skills and a job. I highly recommend Ontesol!

Before I went in for the 250hour OnTESOL program, I was actually looking for a program that could endow me with the necessary skills for teaching ESL students. At the beginning, I was actually wondering if I was in the right place, but after completing this program I came to realize that I took a correct decision and made a right choice by choosing Coventry House International. The course content provided me with all I need in this endeavor. My tutor, Ms. Claudia Bertotto, is very efficient, and she provided me with all I needed throughout the program. I want to thank her for her sincere instructions and all those who, in one way or the other, contributed for my going through this program successfully. I am recommending the 250hour OnTESOL diploma to all my colleagues teaching English in the UAE. Today, I can go into the classroom with full confidence and prepare lessons for ESL students and business people with efficiency.

I just finished the course and I am extremely happy I chose Ontesol. From the moment I signed up, the whole process of completing the course was very clear and straightforward. I got responses very quickly after sending emails, from both the director and my tutor. The course content is informative, interesting, and relevant. I wasn’t sure what to expect from the course, but I felt challenged in a way that I felt helped me grow in a very positive way. I’ve learned many new things, and I now feel confident in my abilities as an ESL teacher. What I appreciate about this particular course is that you can go at your own pace – you have 6 months to complete it, which is ample time. I don’t have anything negative to say about this course. It was a very positive experience. I would recommend Ontesol as a first choice to anyone who is looking to become an ESL teacher.

I took the Ontesol 100 hour course. I found the information helpful and the assignments taught me to apply the information in practical ways. I found the tutor to be responsive, and their feedback on the assignments fair and useful.

I liked the online format because I could do the course when it worked for my schedule.

I was extremely satisfied with my 120-Hour Certificate Course with TEYL Practicum. During the course I gained immense knowledge about all the relevant fields related to teaching english such as: grammar, phonology, and methodology. The content of these modules served well to provide me with information I had never encountered when learning the specifics of the English language during grade school. Assignments were structured with clarity and if they were not completed with accurate information, I was asked to redo the assignment for a higher grade. The feedback I received from my tutor was superb. Both Danielle and Claudia were excellent tutors and were great resources for my questions, providing me with further clarification about a certain topic. The lesson plans challenged me to a great degree, but all in all were helpful to get me in the mindset of teaching new learners. On the administrative side, I would like to commend Lucas for being so quick to respond and helping me extend my course when I needed it. OnTESOL was accommodating and professional when I needed to extend my course. There is a fair amount of work to be done in this course, but if you are committed to finishing in a certain amount of time and dedicate consistent time to completing the assignments, you should not have to extend the course. I applied for a teaching position in South Korea through EPIK and did not use the job placement services provided by OnTESOL, but I am sure they are great. Thanks to OnTESOL, I will be heading to South Korea in September 2016 to fulfill my position with a great knowledge of my native language and some very effective ways to teach it. I am also relieved that I can continue to use my tutors as a resource while there. I highly recommend OnTESOL as an affordable, competent, and professional certification course.
