The one and only Language House TEFL in Prague is one of the most popular and beloved TEFL certification companies in the world. With over 20 years in operation, many of their staff have been working for the organization for over a decade. Since its establishment, TLH has strived to create a TEFL certification school that not only includes some of the most rigorous training possible, but also all of the logistical and community support for their graduates to thrive. As of 2024, they have graduated over 3000 successful teachers from their program.

The Language House TEFL is not just a training center, but a network of staff and graduates in Prague and abroad who help and support each other years after graduation. When you sign up for The Language House TEFL, you are not just getting a TEFL certificate; you are entering into a supportive community of staff and graduates who become almost like a second family. This support includes making friends abroad, finding jobs, support with accommodation, and everything in between to aid in your success.

This is one of the more intensive courses you can find. Their website and socials are filled with pics of their trainees having fun in their new home, but make no mistake, The Language House TEFL is an extremely rigorous course. After completion, you will graduate a skilled and competent teacher. They also offer online and blended TEFL courses for those who cannot make it to Prague.

Two words: Alumni Network. It’s amazing, and as far as I know unlike any other at any TEFL school in Prague. Basically you have about 50-100 friends in Prague as soon as you arrive (you won’t meet them all at once obviously but it doesn’t take long) plus various other alums all over the world who you can contact. These people will help you with the course, help you navigate the visa/zivno process, hang out with you, help you find jobs…

You get top notch English teaching instruction, awesome course content, superb practice teaching, outstanding feedback, and crazy competent instructors from The Language House, and you can probably get all that from any number of other schools, but only TLH provides the TLH Alumni Network. Highly recommended.

The course is a lot to take on for somebody moving to a new place for the first time in a lifetime, but I would do it again in a heartbeat if I could.

It’s obvious that everyone at The Language House loves what they do, and they got what they do down to a science.

Consider taking this course if you’re feeling stuck where you are. That’s what I did, and now I’m working for a translation company and going somewhere. Where exactly I don’t know. But I’m going, baby.

Originally I came to Prague signed up with another TEFL course, but quickly found out it was unreliable and incompetent. Panicked, I called The Language House. They let me in their course, helped me find accommodation, invited me to the orientation, and made me feel at ease.

The course was engaging and challenging. I never felt unsure of what was needed or expected of me. I would highly recommend this course to anyone who wants to teach abroad. The Language House is a family, and the world is our backyard!

Are you thinking about teaching abroad but can’t decide on the country? Let me help! PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC. Look at a map of Europe and find Prague. Now google busses, trains and flights from Prague to everywhere you want to visit. Not only is the city in the heart of Europe, but it’s incredibly easy for Americans to get visas and jobs are abundant. Plus, the country is not on the euro, making everything incredibly cheap. Now, Google pictures of this beautiful city and start dreaming of the day your flight lands. So, now that ive sold you on Prague, let me tell you about TLH (The Language House). This intensive 30 day course will not only overprepare you for your teaching career by actually making you teach, it will also introduce you to the huge network of alums. Pretty soon, you’ll have more friends in prague than in your hometown. TLH will also teach you about czech culture, help you with housing, jobs, applying for a transportation card, and everything else you would need during and after your transition.

The Teaching Language House in Prague provided me with an equivalent certificate as that of most courses of similar length in the States, the only difference being they made it affordable to get legitimate certification and TEFL education in a beautiful foreign country. All of the staff was kind, helpful and overly inviting with built in events and socializing; a necessary part of a good course in communication and of such an intensive course.

It was an intensive course, in every sense of the word, but also allowed for exploration and socializing. In all of my education and traveling I have never been so impressed by the community and knowledge base established month by month by the eclectic and all-embracing team at TLH TEFL.

A truly wonderful TEFL program! The language house teaches you everything you need to know about teaching in english AND does a great job of helping you get settled in Prague. The alumni network is also wonderful and very helpful!

I had been interested in moving abroad to teach English for a while, and so when I realized I’d had a friend go through this program I reached out to her for further details. After taking the plunge myself, I have to agree with all the points she made to me – that this is very much an intense course, but that the fun and camaraderie with your peers is a wonderful bonus. They have a great network to become connected with, and I learned an incredible amount in the four week program. I feel like I’m both very well equipped to teach English, but I’ve also walked away with a better understanding of how I learn and what motivates me as an instructor. All of the teachers are intelligent, they stay engaged with the students, and even after the course I’ve never felt like I couldn’t reach out with a question about teaching resources or facing challenges here in the CZ. Overall, a worthwhile program that believes in what it’s teaching.

As many other reviews have stated, this is an intensive course. It really throws you into lesson planning and teaching, and keeps up the the pressure for all four weeks. That said, it was one of the most fun experiences of my life. Seriously, it was almost like going to college again. Bonding with new friends while studying, and partying in the nightlife of Prague.

The outreach of this program is also incredible. I found a job as a teacher within days of graduating, and almost all the jobs I have now have come through finding out about them from the course. If you want to travel Europe, make new friends, try a new line of work or all of the above, this is the course your should choose.

It was a crazy 4 weeks but I wouldn’t be living life in Prague the way I am without it. I feel completely comfortable as a teacher in both individual and class settings as well as with young learners and adults. One thing you don’t realize you’re getting with the course is a fantastic alum group. I’ve had many questions answered from this massive network of past grads and I can’t say how helpful it has been.

Having completed the TEFL course at the Language House in Prague over 2 months ago, I cannot recommend it enough. The school delivered from the outset by placing my friend and I in a great flat together in an area of the city that is filled with character. They then made it very easy for us to make friends with our class mates due to them offering a great orientation weekend. The course itself is intense and stressful at times but this leads to you becoming a better teacher. The 12 hours of practice teaching is invaluable. The staff were also very flexible with me when I had to go back Scotland for a couple days during the course to graduate from university.

Immediately after the course ended I was able to go off to Southern Bohemia and teach at a Summer Camp thanks to the school’s connections. This was an extremely enriching experience. Additionally, the school’s connections in the city helped me to secure a job in Prague upon my return from camp. And I’m still experiencing the benefits of the Language House due to their strong alumni community. TLH is the perfect gateway into teaching in Prague.
