I completed the 250 hour TESOL diploma and 20 hour practicum. I received an immense amount of support through out program from teachers and support staff. My teacher was very accessible; she provided me with continual encouragement and feedback on course assignments. The content is very thorough, concrete, and applicable for classroom teaching . I was able to finish the course and practicum at my own pace and during my own time. Even after graduation, I received great support from people in the program (Lucas & Claudia-providing me with transcripts, references etc) . I would highly recommend this program to everyone.

Cheers,

Emilda

I’ve recently completed the 250-hour TESOL diploma training program with Coventry House International and I would strongly recommend it to you if you are considering taking an online training course for your TESOL certification. The program is delivered in a systematic manner and I would say that the feedbacks from the instructor are very valuable and insightful! The training, for me, is not only a great professional development opportunity for my teaching career, it could also be applied to any field in terms of the enhancement of communication skills with speakers of limited English. This is literally one of the best online program I’ve had in my life and no doubt that it was a great experience!

I completed the 250 hour on-line course with OnTesol. I found it both rigorous and stimulating. The quality of the instruction is very high as is the standard of work expected from students . Both my on-line and practicum tutors were very knowledgeable and responded to questions in a timely and professional manner. I most appreciated the quality of the feedback I received from both of them. Comments were focused and well communicated. I was not only told what need to be worked on, but also how to do it. This kind of feedback allowed me to reflect and grow in understanding. In the practicum lessons were deconstructed and reviewed in a positive manner with suggestions always being given for improvement or further reflection. It was always clear what the target outcomes were and I felt supported in reaching them.

I highly recommend this course. You’ll learn so much about the English language & how to teach it.

I completed the 120-hour TESOL program in August (2014). The main reason I chose this program was because they also offer a 250-hour program that is recognized by TESL Canada. I feel like I got my money’s worth, with a good grammar review, introduction to phonetics, and lots of practice on designing lessons. The tutors were really great! Even though we only communicated by email, they quickly answered any questions I had. I think my favorite part of this program was the feedback I got on my assignments. You could tell that the tutors really knew their stuff, and had lots of teaching experience! Right now, I’m working on getting an ESL job in Korea. If that works out, i know I’ll be referencing my course material as I get into the ESL teaching groove!

I recently completed the online 120 TESOL course offered by OnTesol. I decided to take the course because of the positive reviews on this website.

I was not disappointed. The course material in all three major modules( grammar, phonology and methodology) was informative and thorough. The tutors provided useful feedback, and always had my assignments marked ( with comments) within 24 hours. I felt like the organization was interested in providing ESL teachers with the best training possible. The lesson plan information and practice while at times challenging, was also very useful. I feel better prepared to begin working as an ESL teacher now that I’ve completed the course.

Also it’s great that you can arrange for in-class practicums through OnTesol as well. Overall, I was very pleased with my experience and would recommend OnTesol for anyone looking for TESOL certification.

After looking over all my options for getting certified online, I chose Ontesol because I really love how they give you the option of doing practicum wherever you live. I wasn’t able to travel anywhere to do practicum, so this option was really great for me. However, because I was in a bit of a time crunch, I chose to NOT do the practicum, which really seemed like a waste. If I would’ve known I wasn’t going to do it, I think I would’ve picked a less expensive course. Anyways, here are some more details:

Likes: It’s online and is fairly cheap if you choose to do the practicum. Like I said though, I didn’t. The course was fairly easy until you got to the lesson plan section. I liked the fact that it was difficult though. I think this makes you a better teacher. The information was helpful, and as someone who has spoken English all her life, I still learned a lot about English. My tutors were there for me if I needed them, and always gave me feedback.

Dislikes: The punctuation errors in the lessons kind of put me off at first. I am by no means perfect at this, but I thought that since they are supposed to be teaching us how to teach English, the errors would’ve been nonexistent. This made me a little afraid that I hadn’t chosen a reputable company. I’m just a nerd about that kind of stuff though.

Overall: As far as I know, this course is reputable and does require work. You can’t just fly by it. But if you’re not going to do the teaching practicum, there are other strong options to consider.

I took the 250 hour course. It is an excellent course but it is a lot of work! You learn a lot but you need to be self-motivated and disciplined to get through it. Grammar, lesson planning, teaching styles, all are covered in detail. The practice teaching section was very valuable, with detailed feed-back and suggestions for improvement.

I had done a fair amount of research online before choosing ontesol for my ESL certification and am delighted with my choice. The course was both intensive and rich in vital information delivered in an easy to digest fashion. Their e-books are comprehensive with countless in-depth lesson plans and a great review of the grammar I use daily but had “forgotten.” My tutor, Aaron, was awesomely enthusiastic about teaching and with that, I was gifted to his insights regarding how to best do it through kindly constructive criticism coming at me promptly as we worked through each lesson and lesson plan. Although my 100 hour course did not include actual teaching practice (they do encourage you to take the additional 20 hour practicum, if you feel it necessary), with the confidence I have gained from the course, I felt at ease in my few days volunteering in front of a group of restless kids. That said, I highly recommend this course to anyone wanting to teach English as a second language

I took the 100 hour course and was less enthustiastic at the end than some others. While the material was in general pretty good, and I thought the methodologies solid, I had some issues with the way the courses were structured and laid out. I did like the online aspect of it and the ability to self-pace. That worked well for me as I have a bit of a crazy schedule. Also the tutor was good given the limitations of the interactions we were able to have. One thing I appreciated was the availability of the tutor and the quick response as far as questions and feedback. That will serve me well as a teacher as I came to appreciate how important that is to students. The hardest part for me was the practical side of it and being able to feel comfortable in front of a classroom full of people I couldn’t communicate perfectly with.

OnTesol has been a great experience. The course material was expansive and informative while also being easy to understand. The course was well paced and it all felt well put together. I feel I learned more than I could have hoped to gain from a purely online course. This was a fantastic experience.

My tutor was probably the best part of the course. My tutor was an excellent source of feedback and support. She was always reachable and assisted in any concern I might have had. My tutor was Danielle and she was amazing in every respect, providing feedback to my submissions and guidance for what was approaching.

Highly recommend this course. I can only speak as a rookie in this respect. If you’re uncertain with what course provider to go with OnTesol is amazing!
